Every few years due to kids aging into school we go through some organizational changes, and we’re entering one of those phases. It’s been an incredible honor for me to serve as sort of principal organizer for Nashdads for the last two years. I cannot possibly overstate how much Nashdads means to my son Rowan and I and the significant impact it has had on our lives. The friendships we’ve developed will undoubtedly be lifelong, and I know I’m a better father and a better man thanks to participating in the group. I also believe the positive impact on my son has given him tools to develop in long-term positive way as well.
My son is preparing to enter kindergarten so our ability to participate in as many activities will diminish as the school year begins, and that’s basically how these transitions happen.
To any dads out there who may have come across the group and maybe even seen us online, I would encourage you to come out and meet us…get involved. You will be welcomed, and you won’t regret it.
In the meantime, please have patience with us as we get things moved over to new leadership as some postings might appear different or in different times.
Most of all, with all my heart thank you to my Nashdads brothers! Parenting is not easy…but the journey is much easier with such wonderful support.☺️👍♥️

This week we’re going to Crockett Park. Someone recently asked why we pick Crockett so often and this is the answer: First, it’s totally enclosed with only one entrance, which makes keeping track of the kiddos while allowing greater freedom much easier. Next, the playground doesn’t have a sandbox. Sandboxes on playgrounds are totally lame. And last, plenty of shade! Anyway, come out and join us for some fun at Crockett Park!

Sort of mixed predictions for Wednesday’s weather, so we’re playing it safer. We’re going to Creive Hall Elementary School, where they do a “storytime with the principal”. The story starts at 11am, but we’ll stick to our usual 10:30am meetup time and play on the playground a short before going in for the story. Afterwards, we’ll probably hit the playground some more.

Wednesday night we’re going to look leave the kids home and go out to ML Rose on 8th Ave for a burger and beer. Hope to see you there.

For next week’s playgroup, we aren’t just going to post it out in the open. We’re planning a going away cookout for a long time Nashdad. Not that new dads wouldn’t be welcome to come, but for planning food and supplies, we want to keep it to a head count. That being said, you can jump into the GroupMe app, join our group, and get the details that way. We would love to have you! Otherwise, we’ll return to our regularly scheduled playgroup the following week. 😊👍
Tomorrow’s forecast is 50/50 for rain or HOT… although the rain is probably in the afternoon. Either way, we’re going to to do storytime to stay out of the heat, but have access to the playground afterwards if we feel like it. Storytime starts right at 10:30a, so being a little early is a good idea.

School is out for a lot of metro kids today, so we’re having a bonus playgroup tomorrow. That way we can see all our friends that we’ve missed during the school year. 😊👍 Though it may be insanely busy, we’re going to Crockett Park. Hope to see you there!
